June F. Shinn, 75, a longtime resident of Bluejacket, Okla., passed away Sunday morning, July 9, 2017 at the Family Care Center in Fairland, Okla. She was born October 22, 1941 in Lodi, Calif. to Kenneth Cooper and Pansy (Holland) Cooper. She was a graduate of McDonald County (Missouri) High School.

June was retired from Eastern State Hospital where she worked as a mental health aide. She lived in Bluejacket the majority of her life, except from 2001-2009 when she lived in Bismark, Ark. While in Bismark, she worked as a dispatcher for the Fire Department. She loved cooking, sewing, gardening, and anything doing with the outdoors. She loved her family to the fullest, and enjoyed her grandchildren every minute she could spend with them.

She was married for many years to Robert Shinn. He preceded her in death on May 28, 2011. She is also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Arlis Cooper; and a sister, Patsy Cobberly.

She is survived by two daughters, Sherry Duarte of Bluejacket, and Lisa Edgar and husband Bryan, also of Bluejacket; three sons, David Ratcliffe and wife Susan of Bismark, Ark., John Cooper and wife Tammy of Sand Springs, and Kyle Shinn of Bluejacket; stepchildren, Rocky Shinn and wife Susan, Jim Shinn, Darlene Golden, and Phyllis Goodman and husband Charlie; two sisters, Edna Hutcheson of Ketchum, and Lora Mae Mullin and husband David of Anderson, Mo.; 18 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Welch. Graveside services 10 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2017 at the Bluejacket Cemetery. Pastor Leonard Stoner will officiate. Burial will follow in the Bluejacket Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Luis Delatorre, Chase Tharp, Hayden Ratcliffe, Brayden Denton, Kenneth Larson, Patrick Hutcheson, Trevor Ratcliffe, and Bryan Edgar.
