Naomi M. Mahan was promoted into heaven Thursday, June 22, 2017 at the age of 92.
She was born September 7, 1924 in Cardin, Okla. to Frank J. and Pearl Sanders. The youngest of seven children, she was preceded in death by both parents as well as brothers Paul, Roy and Jack and sisters Thelma, Juanita and Geniveve. She graduated from Picher High School and was married in October, 1942 to Clay W. Allen, Sr. in Goldsboro, N.C. and had two children, Clay Jr. and Janice. Janice Stewart also preceded her in death. Clay Sr. died April,1982 and Naomi married Herbert Wayne Mayhan in November, 1990 and the couple moved from Miami to Broken Arrow’s Silver Arrow Estates Independent Living Residence in July, 2012 to be closer to immediate family. Herbert Wayne died April 17, 2014.
Naomi is survived by son Clay Jr. and wife Marilyn (Mary Kay), four grandchildren Missy (Todd) Adam and children Taylor and Kayleigh; Scott (Jennie) Allen and children Maddie and Ryne. Janice is survived by husband Jack and children Mark and Angie (Randy) Davis and children Seth and Hannah. She is also survived by step daughter Linda (Gerald) Rendel and two grandchildren Jeff (Jayne) Rendel and Amy (Graham) Milligan as well as four great grandchildren Molly, Melanie, Rachel and Patrick. She was a life-long member of Cardin Christian Church and joined First Christian Church, Miami, upon its closing. Naomi was a member of the Martin Sunday School Class.
A Ceremony of her Life Service is planned for 2 p.m., Saturday, July 8 at the First Christian Church in Miami under the direction of Paul Thomas Funeral Home with Pastor Leon Weece officiating. There will be no visitation since she chose to be cremated. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate in her honor to Cookson Hills Christian Ministry and School, RR3, P.O.
