MIAMI - A car with Michigan license plates crashed through the fence surrounding the G.A.R. Cemetery north of Miami on Wednesday.
The vehicle was southbound when it experienced a possible blowout or mechanical issue and crashed into the fencing taking out a portion of the green ornate iron structure. The impact turned the car completely to the north.
Three suspects, one male, and two females fled the scene on foot before the police arrived and could not be located, according to Miami Police Captain Todd Hicks.
No injuries have been reported, and the suspects have still not been found.
G.A.R. Office Manager Nancy Bro said no headstones were harmed and the fencing will be replaced by extra portions the cemetery has on hand.
Anyone with any further information is asked to contact the Miami Police Department at 918-542-5585.
