Barkaritaville, a Jimmy Buffet themed benefit for Second Chance Pet Rescue has been moved from Friday, June 2 to Saturday, August 19 due to a forecast of heavy rain and lightning.

GROVE – The Jimmy Buffet themed Barkaritaville fundraiser for Second Chance Pet Rescue has been forced to reschedule again due to a stormy forecast.

The benefit was originally scheduled for Saturday, May 20, then moved to Friday, June 2, but has now been pushed to Saturday, August 19 because of a weather forecast for Friday of heavy rain, lightning, and wind expected between 4 and 7 p.m.

Barkaritaville will be hosted by The Parrot Steakhouse & Grill under lighted tents at Honey Creek Landing & Marina located next to Honey Creek Bridge in Grove. The event will run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and feature dinner, music, and an auction.

Dinner will be "Cheeseburgers in Paradise" grilled with all the trimmings. Cash bar available. The Charity Auction will run from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Cost is $40 per person. Casual tropical attire and flip-flops encouraged!

Barkaritaville tickets that have already been purchased will be honored for the rescheduled benefit.

Tickets are also still available for purchase for those that wish to attend August 19.

In the case of severe weather on August 19, the Grove Civic Center will serve as the alternate location for Barkaritaville following the "Cars for Critters" Indoor Car Show from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
