Garrick Walker entered the no contest plea in Delaware County District Court on Wednesday to lewd or indecent proposal to a child under 16.

JAY– A former Delaware County Sheriff’s deputy accused of propositioning a then 13-year-old girl for sex in Nov. 2015 has pleaded no contest and received a three-year suspended sentence.

Garrick Walker, 26, of Grove, entered the no contest plea in Delaware County District Court on Wednesday to lewd or indecent proposal to a child under 16. He is required to register as a sex offender, said Winston Connor II, Walker's attorney.

Walker was employed with the sheriff’s office full time from May 1, 2014 to Jan. 15, 2016 when the allegations surfaced.

Walker asked the teen several times if she “would like to experiment with him” and said, “no one would have to know,” according to a probable cause affidavit. The affidavit also states the victim and her sister who was a fifth grader at the time Walker was arrested were inappropriately touched.

Garrick told investigators he discussed sex with the teen telling her “she needed experience,” the affidavit states.
