“We've been fighting inconsistency all year long,” Tecumseh coach Matt Thornton said. “We just have those moments where we just can't hit shots. The second quarter was one of those. I'm proud of how they bounced back and had a good third quarter. We just have to find a way to put four quarters together.”
At halftime Thornton challenged his team to step up the intensity on the defensive end and attack the basket on the offensive side of the ball. The Lady Savages jumped started the third quarter on an 8-0 run, in part to Channing Scallorn scoring four points.
“We do a good job on defense,” Thornton said. “Our kids play with a lot of heart. The emphasis was to get to the free throw line. We did that and made some shots.”
Tecumseh took the advice of their head coach, attempting 13 free throws and making 11.
McLoud was unable to chip away at the lead in the fourth quarter. Johnson hit 2 three-pointers to start the quarter, putting the game out of reach.
“The girls played well,” Thornton said. “Any time you can get a double digit win on the road, I'll take it.”

McLoud's Cardin led all scorers with 12.
