Grand Gateway Area Agency on Aging, in conjunction with the Northeastern Tribal Health System Diabetes & Wellness Center, Lion's Club mobile screening van, Ottawa Tribal Elder Services and Quapaw Tribal Elder services will be providing a free diabetic/health screening event.
This will be held on Thursday, Oct. 6, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Miami Civic Center.
This event is free and is open to anyone.
There will be many screenings available at no cost including: Visual Acuity, Glaucoma, Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar, Cholesterol, Lung Functioning and Bone Density.
Mammography will also be available for a fee. There will be nurses available on site to assist individual with understanding their test results.
Breakfast and lunch also will be provided and vendors will be available to assist individuals.
Grand Gateway Area Agency on Aging staff will be available to assist Medicare beneficiaries with any Medicare questions prior to Medicare Part D Open Enrollment.
Pelivan Transit will be providing free transportation to this event.
