Mr. Baker is making a number of claims that cannot be substantiated, in fact, by using the rules that guide Cherokee Indians, the facts are opposite of what he tells us. Chief Smith has no ability to cut funds for any Indian activity, only the council has this authority. Chief Smith doesn't have a vote on any of the items that Baker claims he changed. Only the council has this ability. It is interesting that Mr. Baker has belonged to this council for a number of years and has been responsible to see that such changes are not made. One other thing that has been deceitful is concerning the airplane owned by the Cherokee Tribe for a number of years, is not the airplane shown in Baker's ads. There is no jet airplane as was claimed by Baker. The fact is, the airplane is old and probably needs to be replaced. I cannot support someone who is deceitful in his claims.
