How to prepare for the second coming of Christ and the rapture is described in many places throughout the New Testament. Jesus discussed all of the end time events with the disciples in Matt 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21. Preparing for the rapture is what all Christians should be doing, as we will be coming back with him on the second coming.

We have got to know what our jobs are as Christians waiting for the big event "The Rapture."

What are we to do? How should we be waiting? Why should we care? These are just a few questions that have been asked when I brought it up to new and old Christians.

This should answer most all the questions you may have. The Lord tells us in Mark that we should be going about our everyday business but to be ready, and watching for his return. Mark 13:34 - 36 says: "For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch; verse 35, Watch ye therefore, for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning; verse 36, lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.

We see that Jesus himself said that we should be going about our normal day, but we are to watch for his return. Some may ask what should be our everyday work? We are to provide for our families, learn God's word, pray and be about our Fathers business.

Jesus also tells us that he will find some of his people "sleeping" not looking for his return. If I have heard it once I have heard it a thousand times from good God loving Christians that "the rapture is not going to happen in my lifetime." Oh how wrong they could be. This statement should scare the bejeebers out of a pastor.

The Bible clearly states that we all should be at watch for the Lords coming. You would be surprised about how many Christians think in this manner. The question is, are they asleep? The answer is yes they are.

We as Christians should be eagerly awaiting for Christ. So many times as a pastor you can see that people will leave their Bible in church when they leave to go home, not to open it til the next Sunday when they return to church.

In my opinion that is not being ready, we should be reading God's word everyday in some shape or form to build a relationship with our father. Not to scare the bejeebers out of you, but if Christ came today I wonder how many Christians or so called Christians would make it. I know that these are strong words but l owe it to my Lord to be a messenger for him. That his people are to worldly and need to repent and come unto him again before it's too late.

In Matthew 7:21-23 it clearly states what will happen to so called Christians. Matthew 7;21 states "Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of my father which is in heaven." Matthew 22 state "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works." Matthew 23 states "And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you; depart from me, ye that work iniquity."

As and end time Christian we should be about our fathers business and always looking for him to come at anytime. This is the question I will leave you with. Are you about your Fathers business? You

can be about your fathers business all you have to do is ask Jesus to guide you, to move you closer to

him, and as always you are welcome at Ottawa Indian Baptist Church.
