The community Emergency Preparedness Event held Sept. 10, 2011

at Veterans Blvd and N Elm Street was a great way to learn about

how a tornado sounds, being prepared with a shelter, 72 hour

preparedness kits, Child ID Kits, food storage, community

communication and sharing lunch with others. There was a successful

blood drive held by the American Red Cross, too.

     Many others were

involved such as first responders to those teaching how to be

prepared for an emergency.  Financial and literacy were key

components as well.
