FAIRLAND —Jenni Jennings scored on an eighth inning error to provide the deciding margin in Quapaw’s 9-8 District 2A-8 win over Fairland here Tuesday, Sept. 4.

The Lady Owls had tied the game at 8 with a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh, one coming on a leadoff homer by Scout Mayfield.

Quapaw put together what turned out to be the game-winning rally in the top of the eighth.

Gracie Crawford had a one-out single and scored on a two-out double by Jenni Jennings.

Jennings got the Lady Cats what turned out to be the deciding run when she scored on an error.

They left runners stranded at second and third.

Fairland rallied in its half of the eighth when Kyndall Davis reached on an error. She eventually scored when Scout Mayfield grounded out.

Alexis McGranahan popped up to catcher Jenna Kerley to end the game.

Quapaw scored five in the first inning and added two in the second.

The Lady Owls got two runs in the second and scratched out single tallies in the third, fourth and sixth before tying the game in the seventh.

Each team had 10 hits.

Crawford and Karissa Anderson led the way offensively for Quapaw with three singles each.

Jenna Kerley and Jennings had a double each.

Madelynn Zinn and Mya Nichols added a single each.

Morgan Chaney collected three singles for FHS.

Lilly Triplett delivered a two-run homer in the second and a single.

Jordan Goins had two singles

Mayfield homered and Alexis Boyd and McGranahan chipped in with a single each.

Fairland will host the FAST Festival Thursday, Sept. 6.

The Lady Owls face Catoosa at noon.

The remainder of the schedule includes Catoosa vs. Afton at 1:30 p.m., Jay vs. Afton at 3 p.m. and Jay vs. Fairland at 4:30 p.m.
