WYANDOTTE - Jacob Lux and Ty Essex combined for 15 strikeouts and no walks as Wyandotte rolled to an 11-0 victory over Fairland here Tuesday afternoon.
Lux struck out nine and walked none while yielding only one hit in three innings of work.
Essex worked the final two innings, fanning six and walking none. He also allowed one hit.
Fairland put only three balls in play in the game.
Dillon Seamon grounded out to second in the second inning, Kolton Selsor had a two-out single in the third and Seamon singled with one out in the fifth.
"The thing about Lux is he usually gets better as he goes," Wyandotte coach Kyle Baldridge said.
The Bears (2-0) sent 12 batters to the plate in the second inning while scoring eight times. Terry Wyland drove in three runs during the inning with an RBI single and a two-run double.
Wyandotte picked up two runs in the third then tacked on a single tally in the fourth with a bases-loaded walk.
In addition to the two hits by Wyland, the Bears got two singles and two RBIs from Scotty Rotzal.
Lux doubled and drove in two runs while Orrin Ryan, Andrew Douthit and Tate Smith each had a single. Ryan drove in a run.
Fairland host Quapaw and Wyandotte entertains Welch on Thursday.
