According to U.S. Postal Service officials in Miami, mail that typically would be delivered to areas that are either flooded or inaccessible is being held at the post office.
Residents may pick up their mail at the Miami Post Office service window.
“The carriers know what mail cannot be delivered and it's being held here,” postal employee Dave Tevebaugh said. “We will not cross any barricades to deliver mail.”
Tevebaugh said mail that is not picked up by the resident will be delivered on the next available day.
“As soon as we are able to get into those areas, we will deliver mail to flood victims,” Tevebaugh said.
